I think that I have a pretty cool job.
Sure, I could be bias but building the tech to support an industry leading Loyalty and Personalization Programs is pretty cool.
But what the heck do I actually do?
As a Product Manager for Loyalty and Personalization, I report directly up to the VP of Customer Data and Insights. I work with her to identify technical products that deliver outcomes that align with the overall vision and strategy.
Kind of like this:
VP : We want to achieve X this year
Me: To achieve X this year we will build A, B, C, D, and E. I will get with our Consulting Engineer and figure out the timeline.
I know I just skipped a ton of steps while sharing an oversimplification my role.
In between her problem statement and my solution statement there is are meetings, research, meetings, collaboration, meetings, data analysis, documentation, and you guessed it... meetings.
So what's the so what?
If this sounds interesting (even with all of the meetings) then Product Management might be a great career choice for you (especially if you are pivoting from a retail career)
